Hi! I am Candice and I am an Atlanta based Personal Trainer, focusing primarily on Womens Fitness and Health. I am an Advocate with the Arthritis Foundation, passionate about my clients and work, AND I love sloths. I am a specialized in Pre and Post Natal Corrective Exercise, and certified by the Biomechanics Method as a Specialist in Corrective Exercise.
When I was growing up I had a much different mindset about working out than I do today. I thought of it more as punishment.... I would do everything I could to get out of cheerleading conditioning and any other sort of "active" activity! In college, I lost a lot of weight after going through a surgery that went bad and I was unable to eat solid foods for almost a month. I never regained the weight back but also went through a period where dieting and counting calories consumed me.
I was thin, WAY too thin, only eating about 800-1000 calories a day and doing cardio.... only cardio….. This went on for about a year until I finally realized how bad I looked. I went and got help, starting eating more and eventually gained weight back.
Then in 2008 I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. At that point I didn't know what to think or do. I thought I was doomed with no chance of ever living a normal life. Boy was I wrong! My Dr. advised me to start working out, I did, and fell in love with training! I started living for my gym time every day. It literally changed my life, I put my RA in remission once for a few years and plan to again. Bottom line I have been there, I have been the girl who didn't care to workout, didn't want to workout, didn't understand it. I was the girl that thought starving myself was the answer, I was the girl who thought I would end up in a wheel chair due to a medical diagnosis….. but I have learned and USED these things to my advantage and helped others change their lives as a result.
No matter what YOU are going through it CAN be overcome and you CAN live your BEST life yet!
I would love to help you find out how!
